Now, that school is in full force my homework load is quite heavy. It is all worth it though because my classes are amazing! For instance this week the fashion design and design management students were able to go to Premiere Vision. Premiere Vision is a global event for fashion industry professionals which contains creatives from all over the world to show their businesses in one of these categories: leather, yarns, fabrics, designs, accessories and manufacturing. It was such an amazing opportunity to experience it even though I am not working in the industry yet. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take many pictures because it wasn’t allowed but I was able to sneak in a few to show you!
Other than my fun field trip to Premiere, I have been pretty much living at school this week which is not so exciting to hear about all of my work that I am working on. Although, this week I somehow managed to get lost on the way to school one day. That little mishap, made me get to know a little more about Paris and see all the cool little shops! The bad news about getting lost is that since the weather cannot make up its mind here, I got caught in the rain with no umbrella and inevitably got me soaked. So, if you come to Paris during this time of the year be sure to carry an umbrella with you as the weather is indecisive. It is also a good idea to layer up because one minute you will be cold and the next you will be hot. Wool blended sweaters will become my new favorite friends, thanks to my roommate for letting me in on the secret of all the power that they have. Since I am a born and raised Arizonan, growing up in the desert and pretty much having one type of temperature which is hot, one doesn’t think much about climate changes. I have quickly realized that the wardrobe I brought, will not prepared me for what I am about to endure this fall and winter. I hear Lafayette calling my name! (Lafayette is the mall in Paris where everyone goes)
I thought it would be fun to ask you to give me ideas of what you want to see more of in Paris. Your ideas and suggestions would make me more familiar with my new city and I would be able to tell through my experiences. So, when or if you plan to come to France you can have many choices of what want to do once you are here. If you have been here before and I have not done something you think I should do, I would also love your suggestions! Until next week…. Xx Laurel
